eligibility
Who we serve.
Every situation is different, and we look at each one individually. If you're not sure you qualify, reach out anyway.
Who can apply
In general, you:

Coach any sport, at any level, and have coached within the past 12 months

Are affiliated with a school, club, league, or coaching organization

Are facing a hardship that directly affects you or an eligible dependent
-
Experienced that hardship within the past 12 months

Haven't received a Legacy Grant in the past 12 months

Eligible dependents include your spouse, children under 19, and full-time students under 25. Other family members may be considered case by case. We may ask for documentation that verifies your situation.

Coach Powell built real relationships with his players and pushed them to excel in every part of life.​
Then a rare, aggressive cancer took hold, one so unusual it was hard to diagnose. It sidelined him from coaching while the medical bills piled up.
He passed away in the spring of 2021, four days before his 40th birthday, leaving behind his wife and three young children.
His former players saw what his family went through and decided to do something about it.
He's still the heartbeat behind everything we do.
